In this course students will be introduced to basic drawing methods, media and concepts. Students will explore a variety of drawing media including; pencil, charcoal, pen & ink and pastel. Studio work will develop and reinforce understanding of the elements and principles of art. Students will build upon and refine understanding of aesthetic issues, criticism, historical and contemporary artists, the relationship of drawing to their artworks, and time periods. Prerequisites include; Introduction to Art and Art I. This course is articulated with Southern Oregon University and students may opt to receive 4 university credits.
