This course is designed to introduce the art student to a variety of painting media including tempera, acrylic, watercolor and oil.  Students will develop deeper understanding of color theory, the use of appropriate brushes, painting surfaces, color mixing, and compositional development.  Students will create and evaluate works of art, explore their own aesthetic views, examine historical and contemporary artworks and movements. Prerequisites include; Introduction to Art and Art I.
